Philip Scheiner administers international programs at CELSA. These include the degree-earning gap-year program in which students spend a year abroad and do field work for a dissertation on an aspect of communication in a foreign culture.
Scheiner also runs the school’s intercultural program, coordinating country seminars to cultivate students’ interest in an international experience before leaving on study-abroad programs. The in-depth one-day seminars aim to help students acquire an intercultural and global competence.
Scheiner started the visiting scholar’s program at the School, which has invited scholars from the Universities of Westminster and Lincoln in the United Kingdom, and the Universities of Pennsylvania and Colorado in the USA. He holds degrees in Economics and French Literature from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) and the Sorbonne.
