Biographical information – Peter Humi graduated from University College, London where he read History. Humi has four decades experience in journalism. His first encounter came at the age of 14 in 1972 when he was an assistant at the UPI news desk in London’s Fleet Street. After graduating he joined UPITN, the TV news-wing of the US agency. In 1982 he joined CNN the world’s first 24-hour news network and over the next twenty-three years Humi covered, as a Producer, Reporter or Executive Producer some of the world’s major news stories interviewing world leaders as they rose or fell from power. From the Lebanese Civil War, to the collapse of Communism from the 1991 Gulf War and the subsequent rise of global terrorism, CNN often led the field in its round-the-clock coverage of unfolding news events. He helped write, produce and organise some of CNN’s most memorable programming of some of the world’s most memorable events. Humi is using his knowledge of news and current affairs to shed light on what the media wants, how it works and reacts and what makes a successful interview, press-conference or live appearance for dozens of top executives of leading national and international companies, as well as for news organisations looking to train fledgling reporters, copy writers and producers.
